In our corporate consumerist American culture which celebrates hedonistic materialism and where aggression and a lack of ethics often results in short term economic gain [at the expense of long - term sustainability], taking a public stand
for universal human values is likely to result in the end of career advancement or even job loss.

for historical truth and invocation of the need to facilitate the cultivation of the
human person and society, «Mapping» at this point comes tantalizingly close to this vision only to fall back into statements that «the fundamental sources of
value in a culture are neither necessary nor
universal.»
It was in this ardent zone of growth and
universal recasting that all that makes man what he is today was discovered — or at least must have been rediscovered,

value for all people in all ages these insights must be understood as illustrations and particular embodiments of general aspects of

There is an essential difference between a faith which recognizes responsibility
for the
universal human community but does not seek to dominate it, and master race theories such as Nazism, or the interesting new Japanese version of Nichiren Buddhism known as Sokka Gakkai (
Value - Creating Society).
Jesus does not support his demand
for love by referring to the

France's revolutionary tradition would at first seem to offer ripe soil
for liberal - minded thinkers to stand up to a system perceived as falling short of the
Universal Rights and
values enshrined in the Declaration of
Human Rights.
