Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to go to NYC multiple times
for both fun and
work and this last trip was more of a fun business trip filled
with lots of great events related to curvy fashion and meeting other fabulous
blogger babes!
I have been pretty swamped focusing on building up my social consulting business + designing a new site
for it (stay tuned... I am perfecting the design hehe), being a boss lady ain't easy... let me tell ya haha However, one of my highlights of the long Labor Day Weekend (other than the amazing sales) was being able to meet up
with some of my
blogger friends — I have been out of commission
for a little bit since I've been drowning in
work + the blog, but heading to a comedy show + some brunch was the perfect way to catch up
with some of my favorite gals!
I saw the project as a great chance to meet and
work with new photographers to give Mario and my fellow
bloggers a break from shooting
for me.
Having contact
with other
bloggers and exploring so many pictures and accounts of so many talented people around the world is actually a positive thing that can be a great source of inspiration
for your
work, besides making new and genuine connections and friendships.
Furthermore the planner came
with a separate booklet
for contact details (of fellow
bloggers, people I have
worked with and people whom I've met on events) and another yearly overview which I used to record birthdays of
blogger friends.
While that penetrative, hydrating seal is obviously what makes these masks so wildly popular
with celebs and beauty
bloggers,
for me, the price (and amount of
work required) was right.
If you're not a fashion
blogger, you might struggle
with backgrounds in a different way — these backgrounds on Etsy
work really great
for food shots and flatlays!
Aaand do not compare yourself
with other
bloggers, they have
worked for a long time to be where they are and it is not something that is achieved overnight.
2016 was a great year
for Collective Beauty — I more than doubled my Instagram following,
worked with so many amazing brands, and developed great friendships
with fellow
bloggers.
I was fortunate enough to
work with a long list of clients
for photo shoots, ad campaigns, fashion events, and covered coveted fashion week events as a
blogger.
Most
bloggers would be familiar
with the «no budget» line and it seriously annoys me that brands / PRs think they can get me to
work for free
with their talk about exposure and the
works.
I was super lucky to have some of my best
blogger babes Brittany and Shelbi be right next door from my hotel, and since we were all shooting
with Yash, they were able to
work with the hotel to get us on their empty rooftop
for this amazing view of the Empire State Building.
I've been
working with both stores
for several months now, and after attending a
blogger friend's bridal appointment at Bombshell back in January, I thought it was time to formally introduce them here on the blog!

working extensively
with style
bloggers, the
press founders are bloggers too — so, we know what you're looking for!
On days off, we often drive around town sight seeing or looking
for cool hidden spots, and that
works perfectly
with me being a
blogger.
Choosing to
work with bloggers or micro-influencers is akin to not putting all your eggs in one basket
for a brand.
I'm wondering, when you're being shot
for the major glossies if that's when as a
blogger you think you've made it, or is it more when you're
working with fashion houses like Chanel / Chloe... probably both I'm guessing?
It can be a lot of
work, but I am so thankful
for all of the
blogger friends I've connected
with.
