The problem in the 1980s was that American power plants were sending up vast clouds of sulfur dioxide, which was falling back to earth in
the form of acid rain, damaging lakes, forests and buildings across eastern Canada and the United States.
On Earth, atmospheric CO2 is absorbed by precipitation --- by rain — and forms a very weak solution of carbonic acid, a very mild
form of acid rain.
EVEN NATURE»S Warnings inflicted on the world in
the form of ACID RAIN and OZONE Depletion -LRB-(proven to be caused by Human / Industry dumping of Chemicals into the atmosphere)-RRB- have been ignored or ridiculed by the USUAL SUSPECTS.

forming sulfur dioxide emitted from making the steel in a wind turbine's blade or the noxious chemicals left over after manufacturing specialized silicon, or glass, that can turn sunshine into electricity.
Such technology could cut
acid rain — causing sulfur dioxide emissions by more than 90 percent, smog -
forming nitrogen oxides by 75 percent, and — ultimately — capture more than 80 percent
of the CO2 normally produced by combustion, storing it in nearby depleted oil fields by 2015.
That sulfur dioxide market, run by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), has reduced sulfur dioxide levels by 40 percent since 1992 by allowing companies to buy and sell the right to emit the

If a volcano ejects vast quantities
of water which freezes in the upper atmosphere, some
of this may combine with sulphur dioxide to
form droplets

Concentrations

acid (a chemical
formed when conifer forests burn) and non — sea salt sulfur (a primary component in

of particulate pollution, can cause heart and lung problems, and
forms acid rain.
Lowe hypothesizes that

Water has a residence time
of 8 - 10 days in the atmosphere, so whenever it
rains carbon dioxide is being washed out
of the atmosphere, because, water (vapour, liquid, solid) in the atmosphere attracts all carbon dioxide in the vicinity — together
forming carbonic
acid which gives all natural unpolluted
rain its pH
of around 5.6 - 8.
At any rate, when «normal»
rain containing natural carbonic
acid falls upon silicon - containing sedimentary rocks
formed over eons from the shells
of tiny marine creatures — radiolarians, diatoms and some sponges — this «siliceous» rock combines with the carbonic
acid to
form ions
of bicarbonate.
