From Boff's presentation it becomes clear that the specific image
of the Trinity is being moulded by the needs
of society which, in turn, is being
viewed from a socially understood Trinity.12 The
former becomes clear from his starting point which lies with the needs in
church, society and cosmos, and with the opposition to a hierarchical
church, an undemocratic society and a disregarded natural environment.13 The latter results from his dogmatic and historical treatment
of the doctrine
of the Trinity, especially from his developing the notion
of perichoresis.
