For medical reasons, she stopped breastfeeding at about a month and she was amazed at how much harder
formula feeding works.
While there's no denying that women are shamed for unapologetically breastfeeding (especially in public without a cover) mothers are also judged for formula feeding their babies, too, sometimes regardless of the reasons why
formula feeding worked for them.
With no disrespect to happily breastfeeding moms, here are the reasons
formula feeding worked for me and other moms:

I bought a breast milk pump and soy
formula and we got to
work feeding my girl.
We had to adjust how much he was
fed, how often he was burped, his
formula brand and type, and have him sleep on an incline (the Dex Baby Safe Crib Wedge
worked well for us).
As committed to breastfeeding as I am and have always been (I have been putting off a breast reduction even though the size of my breasts might be contributing to early osteoparthritis because I think some of my chronic health issues are related to poor early nutrition - not just
formula -
feeding but plenty of other over-processed junk), I don't know that I'd have been willing or able to go through all that if my plumbing wasn't
working.
Whether you'll be pumping,
formula feeding, or both, it's vital to help your baby get accustomed to taking a bottle before you head back to
work.
On one occasion, before he was able to
feed at the breast, a nurse appeared with a bottle of
formula for the baby, ignoring the container of pumped milk that Esmaralda had
worked so hard to get.
Bottle
feeding may be necessary, as for example with
formula fed babies or if you need to leave the house and go to
work while still breastfeeding.
I've
worked really hard not to judge or shame my friends who choose to — or have to —
formula feed their children, despite my own strong feelings about breastfeeding.
But for those who
work to support breast -
feeding, the existence of
formulas that compare themselves with breast milk in their advertising means breast -
feeding is again under attack.
The idea of the long cylinder with a screw on top and nipple has
worked for hundreds of years — and are ideal for
formula feeding, but when it comes to breastmilk, Nanobebe knew there had to be a better way.
After
feeding problems started, switched to almost every
formula, bottles and nipples and zippy cups, nothing
worked.
But since they're returning to
work more quickly, it has led them to turn to
formula rather than cow's milk as a suitable
feeding alternative.
My turn — 39 week elective inductions, early epidurals with both,
formula fed, never co-slept (both babies slept in their rooms from birth which were on a different floor from mine), no baby - wearing, and I was back to
work at 3 1/2 weeks at a 60 - 100 hour / week job.
I think it's awesome that women can
formula feed and have the father or daycare nannies
feed their child while they can
work / sleep / shower / have fun!
i
work full time and am in a car for at least 3 hrs a day... breasting
feeding is like a treat my little bit... we use
formula and suppliment breast
feeding... i will nurse her when i can and then fill her up with
formula... so we still get to bond but she isnt going hungry....
Or * gasp * it would be perfectly ok to just nurse while at home and
feed formula while at
work if you liked breastfeeding and couldn't pump.
During the first two months of life, however, you could pump your milk and
feed your baby with a bottle, you could
feed your baby solely at the breast, or you could nurse your baby, supplement with
formula, and have your partner take over some
feedings with a pumped bottle — there are many different choices that you can make
work for you and your family.
But really no one here wants you to
formula feed your child if breastfeeding
works for you.
(Note: This approach can be made to
work with
formula feeding because it's possible to encourage the baby to continue
feeding beyond the point where they would naturally stop.
Option 2: If you can't or don't want to pump at
work, you can gradually replace daytime
feedings with
formula while you're still at home but continue to nurse at night and in the morning.
And then, if breastfeeding is not
working for you after the two months, your baby can switch to
formula full - time for future
feedings.
This may
work for introducing
formula too, and eventually you can stop ending his
feedings by taking him back to the breast, and ultimately eliminate the breastfeeding all together... hope this helps!
Formula feeding is good when it
works for mum, baby and any other caregivers.
And this
works amazing when traveling with bottle -
fed infants who are drinking expressed breast milk or
formula and eating purees.
When I don't feel so nice, I want to ask every single one of those women who look down on
formula -
feeding: «do you
work out 3 - 5 times a week, do you sleep 8 - 10 hours a night?

In fact, a pump can be indispensable for nursing mothers in a number of scenarios: You want to continue breast -
feeding but return to
work; you need to
formula -
feed your baby temporarily for medical reasons but want to resume breast -
feeding when you get the go - ahead from your doctor; or you need to miss a
feeding occasionally because you're traveling or otherwise away from your baby.
I know I should feel proud about
formula feeding but its tricky The boob didn't
work for us either and I was also on the brink of madness.
Firstly, the WHO International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes and subsequent World Health Assembly (WHA) resolutions, designed to protect breastfeeding and parents from being targeted with promotions that push

working with mothers and children should not create conflicts of interest: Specifically, WHA Resolution 49.15 (2) states,
I was determined that I was going to successfully breast
feed and not listen to anyone who said «do nt get too upset if you cant and have to use
formula», I got all snooty and insisted that a good deal of hard
work and determination was all it would take.
Additionally,

feeding is associated with more frequent doctor's office visits and hospitalization, prescriptions, and parental absenteeism from
work / school in order to take care of an ill baby.
It's totally OK to both breastfeed and
formula feed your baby, if that's what
works for you and your family.

working next week and I need to start pumping for the stock a.s.a.p as I don't wish to
feed my baby
formula milk at three months.
After generations of breastfeeding playing second fiddle to
formula feeding (in most of our society), and because breastfeeding still happens largely «under cover» or at home, many people are unfamiliar with how it
works or know what constitutes «normal» for breastfed babies.

formula feeding your baby vs. sticking with the boob, and deciding to eat your placenta vs. tossing it — and the assumption that, in most cases, choosing one thing means choosing only that thing to the exclusion of all other things, which is totally not how it
works in real life — there is already too much to think about besides how everyone else feels you should decide to raise your kid.
And before that a mother told me that she never talked about her experience
feeding her baby for fear of judgment because she switched to
formula just a few weeks in due to difficulties and postpartum depression compounded by needing to return to
work.
I went back to
work and it was just easier to
formula feed.
But for those who
work to support breast -
feeding, the existence of a
formula that compares itself with breast milk in its advertising means breast -
feeding is again under attack.
I was amazed at the
work involved with
formula feeding!
Most busy
working moms would opt to
feed their infants
formula milk to be able to speedily get back to
work after a few weeks following childbirth.
When one
formula feed of serving of solid foods
works well and you observe no reaction from your breasts or your baby (including constipation or tummy pain), you may proceed to replace another breastfeeding session within a few days.
Other moms encounter some challenges, feel insecure about whether «it's
working», and quickly move to
formula feeding.
I also don't find much mystery in the prevalence of the
formula feeding of infants whose mothers have returned to
work.
The freedom to have more than 4 hours sleep a night (because
formula fed babies will sleep for much longer, from much earlier), which is important if you or your partner
work 2 jobs.
