Adoption Fees: All adopting individuals must agree to pay the adoption donation specified
for the
dog that you are interesting in adopting, please remember that this adoption donation is covering our cost of getting the
dog back to health, up to date on vaccinations
for the year, spayed / neutered, micro-chipped, and a nutrious diet while in
foster care.
It's not like puppy mills are new to me; I
foster for MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue and have taken in many ex-mill
dogs into my
care.

We ask that our
foster homes provide daily
care and attention, which will give us an idea of what needs to be taught
for the
dog to be adoptable.
We are blessed to have so many veterinarians offices, veterinarians, vet techs and supporting staff all over the state of WI willing to work with rescue
dogs, willing to work with WGSPR and ensuring our
dogs get the best
care possible and providing the guidance to WGSPR
fosters and BOD to ensure we are making the right medical decisions
for our
dogs.
We take that very seriously and will work with the
foster to assure the
dog / pup is properly
cared for.
We also need
fosters who are willing to
care for either mama
dogs and their puppies, mama cats and their kittens or just puppies and kittens that have been abandoned to the Shelter.
Most of our
foster families take
care of
dogs that are scheduled
for transfer to sister rescue agencies within the week.
And while we would love to place every
dog in a
foster home until it's adopted, we don't have enough
foster homes to
care for the
dogs we want to rescue, so we incur substantial boarding fees
for many of our
dogs.

for adoption, but they will be shortly!
At this time NYCSR is working to raise money
for several
fosters dogs, the most urgent of which is Jasmine, who is in dire need of special medical attention to help
care for and alleviate pain and problems in her lumbar area and a collapsed disc.

The rescued
dogs are taken
care of in
foster homes until the organization finds a permanent home
for the animals.
However,
fostering involves
caring for cats and
dogs that you'll eventually have to return to the shelter.
All
dogs rescued by SNAFU are
cared for by
foster homes as they organization does not have a facility.
Foster caregivers agree to
care for the
dog as a member of their home, and to make the
foster dog available to pre-screened adopters (by appointment) and to TAMR rescue volunteers.
They try to solve this problem by encouraging or requiring people to spay or neuter their pets (to reduce the number of cats and
dogs who need homes), 57 encouraging people to adopt animals from shelters rather than purchasing them from pet stores or breeders (to increase the number of people looking to provide homes to animals in shelters), 58 and donating money to shelters and
foster programs that
care for cats and
dogs waiting to be adopted (so they can house animals
for longer).59 Collectively, these solutions have greatly reduced the number of cats and
dogs euthanized in shelters.60 The problem is well understood, although making further progress in solving it may be expensive in areas where all these solutions have already been implemented.
We usually have anywhere from 4 to 20
dogs waiting on our intake list
for us to make room in
foster care.
While these programs usually have a primary focus on placing
dogs looking
for a home with
foster families, that means they do have a roster of
foster parents that are both trained to take
care of pets and used to giving them up after a short period of time.
Dogs will be returned to TAMR if a
foster is unable, or unwilling, to keep or
care for their
foster dog.
As a
foster parent you would be responsible
for the
dog's daily
care in your home.
This small group of dedicated
dog lovers fundraise and organize events to pay
for the
dogs in their
care whom all reside in a network of
foster homes.
