dogs into the office for the day as a fun way to relieve stress and
foster a friendly office environment.
Because of our limited resources, many
foster homes
choose to further help the rescue by providing their own
dog food or heartworm / flea prevention.
Often shelters
choose to work with rescue groups who know spit about behavior and training because those people can get the
dogs into
fosters and homes, rather than actual trainers whose focus is resolution of problem behaviors through training so the
dog can STAY in the new home, and stay safely for all concerned, the
dogs and the owners.

Our
foster homes
choose what type of
dog (age, size, etc) they would like to bring into their home.
All B.A.R.K. adoptable pets are posted on Petfinder.com but you are welcome to advertise your
foster dog in any way you
choose.
Contact your local shelter or
foster directly for information on how an adopter for a
dog is
chosen.
While we try to match a Lab with a
foster home that is most compatible (just as we do with our adoption applicants), we provide you with the
dog's full evaluation to allow you to
choose a
foster dog that you think will be the best fit with your home, family and lifestyle.
The
foster family will
choose the adopter they think is the best fit — usually the
dog tells them!
While out
foster families do sometimes fall in love with their
foster dogs and
choose to adopt them (which is great!)
We allow you to
choose the
dog you would like to
foster based on what fits best with your lifestyle.

Fosters may
choose to be involved in the adoption process, and sometimes keep in touch with adopters who may provide occasional updates on the
dogs.
We have
chosen Kuranda
dog beds for our
foster dogs because they are durable, chew proof and easy to clean.
After that, we come to your house with a carload of
dogs for you to
choose from and have you
foster the
dog of your
choosing for a week to make sure that it's a good fit.
If you
choose to provide anything extra for your
foster dog, remember that everything is tax deductible, so go ahead and spoil him!
