I was definitely not expecting it look better as this is a goddamn handheld were talking about, I got past the slight
framerate hiccups and am enjoying the game for what it is having not played the game previously, its great experiencing it for the first time on the Vita and I am actually quite blown away that they are managing to fit all of these full console ports of games onto the handheld, something too many people don't seem to appreciate like myself.
Despite
the framerate hiccups being more present in the Switch version, the game's simple gameplay and short length are a perfect fit for the system's portability.
Its visuals are just a bit better, with less slowdowns and
framerate hiccups.
When porting games to consoles the standard approach is to benchmark, profile, then pick a resolution that guarantees the best compromise between visual quality and
framerate hiccups.
If there's anything wrong here, it's that on very rare occasions, there can be
framerate hiccups.

I'm pleased to report that
these framerate hiccups are pretty isolated, but I was less pleased to find a particular stage in Finland has a pretty huge bug — I crashed into a wall and my car was sent flinging miles into the air, displacing a huge amount of the track and causing some horrible results, as well as stopping me from progressing for about fifteen seconds (see picture).
Especially in the faster WRC classes, some rallies (in particular Finland) do suffer from
framerate hiccups, which are more prominent online.
