Unfortunately, the port to PS4 feels rushed and incomplete, with lots
of framerate stutters and a few glitches and crashes to really, err... increase the challenge.
Characters disappearing and reappearing, long loading times, and
framerate stuttering in large fights are just a few of the oddities you'll see.
Unfortunately, the clunky control scheme and
frequent framerate stutters transform intense gunfights into frustrating slogs that only the most diehard Borderlands fans would bother to put up with.
It can be jarring at first, but once your eyes adjust it's a beautiful game that's slightly hurt by a
few framerate stutters, although since this isn't a reaction - based game or fast - paced those moments don't damage the experience too much.
I did notice a
little framerate stutter here and there, but with so many enemies crowing each battlefield it would be na ve to think all slowdown could be totally eliminated.
Additionally, after installing The Bozak Horde DLC, the rest of the game (on Xbox One) suffered
from framerate stutters and occasional slowdown.
And even with the PS4's processing power, 1080p clarity, and 60 fps,
framerate stuttering is still apparent during cutscenes especially.
It's really a shame, because despite
the framerate stuttering and jerking around like some sort of spider in a spasm the intro sets up a nice amount of intrigue.
The cartoon style graphics look fantastic and even when Sonic et al. are dashing through the levels at breakneck speed, not once did
the framerate stutter.
However,
the framerate stutters in many scenes and the textures are very blurry.
Running smoothly at 60 frames per second in all types of playstyles is definitely where this game needs to be, as we're trying to counter telegraphed moves, and any kind of
framerate stuttering would definitely hamper that.

There is the odd moment where
the framerate stutters, usually only when the screen gets REALLY chaotic, but its still something to mention for the performance purists out there.
