When it comes to popular Nintendo IPs from our youth, we always think of such
franchises like «
Super Mario Brothers», «The Legend of Zelda», «Bomberman», «Contra», among others.
In its early phase (much
like Super Smash Bros.) SMK did not involve Mario or any other Nintendo
franchises or established characters.
Despite loving the Angry Birds
franchise, especially the

like it fine on my phone.

U, instead of whole new experiences that reinvigorate the classic hero and bring him to the forefront once again,

Super Smash Bros for Wii U has both solo and multiplayer modes, and in addition to known characters from Nintendo
franchises, characters
like Mega Man have also been added to the game.
While I'm sure there are many Ys fans (
like myself) who are
super excited about this news, there must also be some newcomers to this 30 - year running
franchise.
With Lego Worlds, it appears the developer is spending 2015 to 2016 mimicking other
franchises rather than focusing on its own,
like the Lego Batman and Lego Marvel
Super Heroes.
Some fans have baffingly lamented that Odyssey «wasn't enough
like 64,» but to hold it against the former - plumber for not sticking to his rulebook is to blatantly miss the very thing that continues to make
Super Mario gaming's premiere
franchise.
While Lucky still makes me think of Conker and how I would
like to see a new game in the
franchise,
Super Lucky's Tale managed to impress.
It made perfect sense then, that Contra would make the jump to the
Super NES,
like so many other NES
franchises did.

I was
super excited about Breath of the Wild but was nervous that it might end up being
like the last Zelda title, Skyward Sword, which is my least favorite in the
franchise.
It has some amazing Nintendo - exclusive titles that you won't be able to play on any other system (
like Super Mario
franchise, Legend of Zelda
franchise, etc.), but it seems that they could generate higher income if they stopped trying to compete with Sony and Microsoft on the console market, and simply release these amazing games on those systems instead.
Alongside possibly raising the price of their mobile games (perhaps
like they did with
Super Mario Run), Nintendo is looking for new mobile developers to help them convert their
franchises to the mobile arena.
Ultimately, though, the games included are each classics in their own rights, from the humble beginnings of several
franchises,
like Super Mario Bros and The Legend of Zelda, that have gone on to dominate the gaming landscape in the decades since their original appearance, to games
like Ice Climber, which never went on to spawn
franchises of their own.
