Since dairy free cheese doesn't tend to melt as well as traditional cheese, if you're using it, I recommend cinching them together with a single toothpick through the center of each before baking.

Since we follow a Paleo / AIP diet & are dairy

The one exception that I know of is tofutti cream
cheese, which contains no added gluten but the company
does not certify that all flavorings are gluten
free.
Decided to go ultra low - cal and
do light sour cream, skim milk, fat
free cheese, and turkey bacon.
I
did double the recipe and replaced the bacon with turkey bacon, and used fat -
free versions of the cream
cheese, milk and potato soup to make this a lighter dish.
For the best flavor, I highly recommend using a decent quality Feta
cheese, don't use the fat -
free stuff, it's awful!
So I really
do not think it would work at all with dairy
free cheese.
My thought was to bake fresh cherries into the donuts,
do a cream
cheese glaze and drizzle crushed (gluten
free) graham crackers over the top.

Nate and I both went straight for my chili at the church event because we knew it was delicious and didn't want to take our chances Plus with only 1/2 cup of
cheese and 1/2 cup of sour cream (and I used fat
free) mixed in we knew it wouldn't be too unhealthy either.
Crevette and Jumpy were so desperate to try them that I made them a
free from chocolate and banana one as their starter, swiftly followed by their ham,
cheese and cream ones before moving on to dessert (
do not judge me!)

free diet, but it's hard to

free cheese alternatives, and they are a god - send for my dairy allergic family, BUT the problem with them is that they can over cook very quickly.
Since we discovered cashew
cheese, we have been enjoying faux - dairy favorites like vegan cheeseburgers or dairy -
free mac and
cheese a little too often, and now that my wife has gone gluten
free too, it's nice to have found a comfort food classic that doesn't feel like an alternative.
The shredded mozzarella is really only there because (if that bowl looks familiar to you...) I couldn't find any of my bowls after I moved, and I didn't want it to be empty, but feel
free to add shredded
cheese to your chili!

FYI, you can also use an organic probiotic bill to and put it into the cashew cream / nut cream / or nut
free hemp (any) seed cream... to to turn it into yogurt / if you can't buy real Kefir Bacteria (Lactobacilli bacteria)- Its not dairy but is used to make milk into Kefir and after its used to turn milks into yogurt, you can strain out the original chunks of bacteria (which is what we
do here in Greece and then put the Kefir in the freezer so you can perpetually re-use it — while waiting for yogurt to become
cheese.
We also frequently add some crumbly, salty cotija or grated jack or cheddar
cheese to this, but we were out (and I didn't want to make an extra trip to the store) so I went dairy -
free this time, for a veggie - packed, clean - eating meal in a bowl.
