I would do regular 1:1 gluten
free flour next time and increase the peanut butter, so they stick better.

Next, my first attempt at almond
flour baking with carried with in a very strong aftertaste that I have (thankfully) not experienced since then, and a paleo chocolate cake I made last winter than contained an obscene amount of eggs and had the consistency of a quiche... What I am trying to say is that cake is not quite as universally beloved in the grain
free world... at least not by bakers.
It used to be that you couldn't get oat
flour or rolled oats truly gluten -
free because there was cross contamination with wheat (they were grown
next to each other, and the processing plant often times processed both wheat AND oats, so there was always some cross contamination).

flour 4 teaspoons aluminum
free baking powder 1 teaspoon fine - grain sea salt
Also, this recipe has many variables, such as whether you choose ginger ale or gluten -
free beer; flaxseed meal or sorghum
flour (as examples), so try another option listed
next time to see if it works better for you.
Try baking them for maybe 10 minutes
next time with the gluten
free flour as well.
Next time I might try adding in a little gluten
free flour and see if that helps bind it.

It's such a beautiful wholesome
flour, so full of flavour, and unlike many other gluten -
free flour mixes, the bread it produces does not dry out but is moist and great for sandwiches and toast alike, the day you bake it and the
next day too.
Next experiment will be with gluten
free flour....

The batter can be thicker or thinner depending on the type of
flour and just random variations in each batch,
next time feel
free to add an extra tablespoon of liquid and that'll thin them out a bit.
Next time I make this I'm going to try a gluten
free version by using coconut
flour and use honey or maple syrup instead of sugar.
