I used my favourite gluten -
free flours, almond and oat, ground from whole nuts and grains in my Froothie blender, and coconut oil and coconut sugar for the least - processed
options.
It's made with coconut
flour instead of regular
flour — making it a paleo and gluten
free chocolate cookie
option!
It starts with chickpea
flour, a great gluten
free option that won't spike your blood sugar like white
flour.
I think the things that are naturally gf should be in gf cookbooks, especially for those whose budget may not have gluten
free flours as an
option (unless they grind it themselves).
It's very different from anything else I've tried, plus I love another nut
free option aside from coconut
flour.
You can replace the

flour seems to be a really good
option as an alternative gluten -
free or Paleo

free options, and even a Paleo
option.

Up until recently, I had only heard of sorghum
flour as a great gluten
free option for baked goods.
I just love buckwheat
flour lately as a more accessible, still totally gluten
free option than banana
flour, which is my other favorite!
As for the GF
options, I haven't tried any — but would recommend substituting a quality gluten
free flour blend for the spelt.
Buckwheat, quinoa or almond
flour might be a safer
option — just be aware that I haven't yet tried these
flours in this gluten
free pancake recipe.
I wanted to comment on the gluten
free option — there are lots of gluten
free flours available that can be subbed 1:1.
I thought if they were that good with spelt
flour then I could probably get away with a gluten -
free option like brown rice
flour.
Free for All Cooking, my most recent GF Cookbook, has a recipe for a
flour blend that offers many different
options for each ingredient, in case you don't have one on hand or can not use a particular ingredient.
These recipes are naturally
free of sugar, salt, oil and refined white
flours or contain low or no salt / sugar / oil
options.
I used a Gluten -
Free flour for mine but Kathy gives lots of
options and ideas in her recipe.
Also, this recipe has many variables, such as whether you choose ginger ale or gluten -
free beer; flaxseed meal or sorghum
flour (as examples), so try another
option listed next time to see if it works better for you.
To make this gluten
free, I use white rice
flour, although other gluten
free options such as brown rice
flour or almond
flour would work well too.
Many gluten
free pie crust recipes use sweet rice
flour (check your nearest Asian food store) and that might be a good substitute
option as well.
They're using a blend of coconut
flour and tapioca
flour for gluten -
free waffles that will have the right texture and taste, and they provide
options for Paleo followers that include dairy as well as those that don't.
One of the troubles with traditional baked goods (and many gluten -
free options as well) is that even though they say they're made with whole - grain / whole wheat
flour, any nutrients you would see from those
flours are overshadowed by copious amounts of butter (or vegetable oil) and sugar.
