free flour out there, I can save you a lot of time and hassle when I say that almond flour is far superior to other flours in terms of every major aspect — nutrition, ease - of - use, and taste!
Confused about how to use the different types of gluten -
free flour out there?
This flour has to be the most versatile gluten -
free flour out there.
And not only are there so many different gluten
free flours out there, but there are so many different combinations and proportions possible, that there's no way that two blends could be similar, even when the ingredients may look the same.
Unlike other Gluten
Free flours out there that are grainy, dry & gross — The combination of flours in my Gluten Free Flour Blend work well together & produce consistently delicious results.
Almond flour and coconut flour are not the only grain -
free flours out there.
Not exact matches
I used quinoa flakes as I didn't have any quinoa
flour and I didn't have any coconut oil (I ran
out 2 nights before due to a intense coconut oil hair treatment:P) so I just ended up leaving the oil
out all together and made it an oil -
free version!
I have friends who have glteun and dairy allergies, and I have tried doing glteun
free baking before using rice
flour and others things, and nothing turned
out to my liking.
1 cup pumpkin seeds — ground into
flour in a food processor 1 cup brown rice
flour 1/2 cup gluten
free oat
flour 1/4 cup tapioca starch 2 teaspoons pink peppercorn — coarsely ground in a mortar with a pestle or in a dedicated coffee grinder 1/2 teaspoon salt 6 tablespoons almond butter 5 tablespoons pistachio butter 5 tablespoons ghee 1/2 cup honey or 3/4 cup coconut sugar 1 vanilla bean — seeds scraped
out 3/4 cup powdered coconut sugar — for dusting
I used gluten -
free all - purpose
flour for these cookies and they came
out perfectly.
I ran
out of gluten -
free mix after 1 cup so I added 1/2 cup brown rice
flour and I can only tell a little bit that it's gritty but I was also looking for the grittiness since I knew I put it in there.
I made these gluten -
free also, and they turned
out great — I used Ener - G gluten -
free breadcrumbs and Bob's Red Mill all - purpose
flour.
Almond
flour acts to keep these grain
free, and there's even a buttery cinnamon topping so you won't feel like you're missing
out on anything.
These can be made either with regular
flour or with gluten -
free flour and turn
out equally as delicious.

Just made these using a mix of gluten -
free flours and Just Like Sugar (made from chicory root) and they turned
out great!
I used an all - purpose gluten -
free flour mix along with psyllium husk as a binder and the muffins came
out lovely and soft with a nice springy crumb and decent rise.
We were
out of town for the 4th so I couldn't make subs for us gluten -
free folks (besides the fact that I ran
out of
flour and so did Better Batter).

In case you are new to Coconut
Flour, let me just tell you that it is one of the healthier
flours — it is very high in fiber, is gluten
free (perfect for a lot of people that are just figuring
out they are allergic to gluten), and is a naturally a bit sweet (yay!
It was a bit of an experiment for me because the easy way
out is to use a pre-mixed all purpose gluten
free flour (like I did with the peanut butter cookies I made here), but today I wanted to try something different.
I just found gluten
free that is supposed to act like normal
flour... I may have to test that
out on these!
It's hard to believe that The Gluten -

Flour Cookbook has been
out for more than a year now!

Since the book only called for a vague «gluten
free flour blend», I opted to make my own mixture instead of going
out to buy a premade one.
I did, however, replace the
flour (for someone who is gluten
free) with 1 cup of pureed black beans and 1/2 cup of chocolate protein powder and it turned
out to be delicious.
It meant I could look up recipes and create my own version like I usually did with everything I cooked, rather than having to say a prayer to the gluten
free gods that my baked good would work
out, let alone trying to figure
out the cost of all the GF
flours on our then grad student budgets.
I don't cook with gluten -
free and almond
flour and, therefore, can't recommend how they would turn
out in this recipe.
I substituted applesauce for the yogurt, blended oats for the
flour, and dairy
free chocolate chips and they came
out amazing!

You can sub
out the
flour for gluten
free for sure.
I was running
out of steam to get more gluten
free flour and ingredients (and will power) for a while there.
I made them with Jules Gluten
Free All - purpose
flour and they turned
out really well.
I made these gluten
free with all purpose gluten
free flour and whole gf oats, and they turned
out perfect.
Subbed the bob red mill's gluten
free four 1:1 baking
flour, used extra oil in place of milk and some goat milk yogurt because that's what we had and still turned
out great!
I used my gluten
free flour and they came
out perfect!!
If you are like me, you probably have a base of 4 - 5
flours that you use regularly, and when you see a recipe with someone else's gluten
free flour mix, you do your best to make do with what you own rather than going
out to spend even more money at the store — cause let's face it — gluten
free ingredients often bring a whole new definition to pricey groceries.
You might want to try one of the gluten -
free flour mixes
out there.
You can go old school and roll these
out with extra almond
flour, but check
out my instructions for a mess
free way to get your cookies rolled
out and shaped quickly and easily, aka, not the way I learned in pastry school:)

I used Trader Joe's store brand gluten
free all purpose
flour mix (mainly a mix of rice
flour & starch) and followed your directions exactly (the egg
free version with ground flaxseed), these turned
out terrific!
Like you, I've been venturing
out more with other gluten -
free flours.
I'm trying
out this gluten -
free baking malarky for future recipes, if only because the texture of brown rice
flour makes me happy.
I'm thrilled you made these with coconut
flour because it means I can indulge in your recipe without having to figure
out how to make it nut
free And I love holiday baking for the same reason, it gets you in the spirit!
I hadn't yet figured
out the nuances of gluten -
free baking
flours, so almond
flour became my easy «go to.»
I have had the recipe for eons and all I did was swap
out the regular
flour for Gluten
Free and they become even crispier and more melt in the mouth (I actually didn't understand that melt in the mouth saying, until I made my version).
Note that the gluten
free pancakes don't come
out as well with all gluten
free flour mixes.
