I have been searching FOREVER for a sugar
free granola and
now I have found it!
I have a bag of Chexs gluten
free granola mix — honey nut flavor — in my pantry right
now.
Also as a student I've been incredibly luck in that for
now I can get prescription mixes so substitution will usually be important to me (although I'm looking at bulk buying gluten -
free granola grains and your recipes may persuade me to get flours as well).
It wasn't to bad of a transition and
now I bake with almond flour and I make
granola with gluten
free oats.
In addition to making a quick breakfast every
now and then, this grain -
free granola makes a great snack for after school.
Now, you can find many versions, including gluten -
free muesli, fresh muesli (soaked overnight in water or fruit juice to soften), toasted or untoasted muesli, and its close cousin:
granola.
My favorite smoothie toppings right
now are fresh berries, cacao nibs, and grain -
free granolas like Purely Elizabeth or Paleonola — they're loaded with healthy fats from nuts and seeds.
These foods include rice and other grains, pasta, beans (learning to cook dried beans is an important part of plastic -
free living), seeds, nuts, all kinds of flour, baking soda and other dry baking ingredients, cereal and
granola, pretzels and chips, some candy, tofu, oils, nut butters, olives, herbs, tea & coffee, and more things than I can think of right
now.
