First appearing at PlayStation Experience in December, the gameplay shown featured slow paced tactical play
with free locomotion as opposed to teleporting.
They responded three days after the release by announcing that they would
add free locomotion, a less restrictive way of moving in VR, which the players had requested.
We kept the idea of
free locomotion as well in a level dedicated to flying where the camera (the player's head) is used to control the direction, the movement speed is rather slow, steady, and adapted to the gameplay thus avoiding motion sickness.
Gameplay wise, you travel through the world either via teleport, or
free locomotion using trackpad / thumbstick.
The AP drain is true for running at top speed
in free locomotion mode too, so both locomotion styles end up offering an AP cost for faster movement.
While this simple locomotion method might reduce the level of immersion, it cuts down the time required for R&D to achieve a more complex motion - sickness -
free locomotion system that we couldn't afford.
Bethesda have creatively sidestepped many of the limitations of PSVR,
particularly free locomotion without a DS4 or AIM controller, and with my camera set up as described earlier in the review, I seem to have avoided many of the tracking issues that have apparently hampered the experiences of some.

ShadowCore VR has

Once the game launches, you must make sure that its native controls are set to
free locomotion and free rotation.
While this can break the immersion to a degree, it does help newer users who haven't gained their VR legs acclimatise to
free locomotion and regardless is looking to be patched to include the option for smooth turning at a later date.
It also lets you add

Fight for supremacy on the fields of battle using
free locomotion, strategy, and destructible environments.
Although I found its precision much more useful when moving around a building's interior during dungeon clearing, I still opted for

free locomotion but you can interact with trico, ride a little on his back and gaze at one of the most beautiful enviroments and certainly the most majestic creature I've ever seen in VR.
