The bottom line: When it comes to choosing the best
breakfast for you, feel
free to nosh or sip on your morning meal — as long as it's packed with whole foods that offer a healthy balance of protein (think
yogurt, peanut butter, or eggs), complex carbs (like the ones in oatmeal or veggies), and fiber.
The fat -
free Greek
yogurt is easily one of the best foods you can consume
for breakfast or snacks, having in mind that it contains 17 grams of protein per serving, and very few calories.
Going gluten -
free doesn't mean that you have to stick to the same routine of
yogurt and fruit
for breakfast.
Breakfasts can be: bacon & eggs; omelettes; Natural Live
Yogurt; brown rice cereal (available from the gluten -
free sections of supermarkets; porridge oats (made with water — milk is avoided
for Phase 1 as it's a common Food Intolerance)...
I stick to a simple routine that includes protein at every meal: lactose
free yogurt or oatmeal or eggs
for breakfast, lunch: a salad with whatever greens I have plus cheese, nuts and any leftover protein (steak, turkey meat, etc) and use basil, olive oil and salt
for a dressing.
