In general, we do have to be cautious
about drawing parallels between the social
behavior of wolves and other wild canids vs.
dogs, because we know that there are important genetic behavioral differences — for example, feral
dogs live in much looser social groups than wolves with members coming and going
frequently, and do not have a strictly defined social hierarchy.
