It was a

birthday a couple of weeks ago and we had been invited over for

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday weekend with our
friends and family in Maryland complete with a potluck dinner with
friends, two family Thanksgivings, a
lunch date with a
friend, a trip to DC to celebrate my cousin's 21st
birthday, a jam session with the Notes fam, and of course playing endlessly with little Finley.
Earlier in the day, for a
lunch my
friend Barbaralee had in honor of the 45th anniversary of the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission, I wore the coat over a longer dress, with Yves Saint Laurent shoes from a few years ago, and the Prada bag that MrB got me for my
birthday in December.
I can throw it on over a swimsuit for
lunch at the beach club, toss it on with sandals for one of James»
friends birthdays, or dress it up with some heeled sandals for work that can easily take me to an event.
Saturday I spent the afternoon with my Alena love, we went shopping and out to
lunch; then at night I went out for a good
friend's
birthday.
Other plans for this weekend include trying this new restaurant for
lunch, celebrating a
friend's
birthday, a homemade Valentine's dinner, the WCBC blogger talk at Next Door and a little calligraphy party with some
friends!
It was so much fun to dress up and have a
birthday lunch for one of my best
friends.

A
friend of mine from the Eastern Cape was recently in KwaZulu Natal for a 40th
birthday party so we used the opportunity to catch up over
lunch.
He called an old
friend to wish her a happy
birthday and to make a date for an annual
lunch they had every June.
But other people continued happily logging into Facebook, sharing what they had for
lunch, their political opinions, their favorite new songs, their kids» baby pictures, and their
birthday wishes to all their

I have a small group of
