The pressure of giving up investments
from investors or incubators are so great that I'm
questioning myself if my
education is going to be worth the time - value that I just passed up an angel or an investor that came in.

For example, in a recent analysis published in an edition of International Studies in Catholic
Education dedicated to the
question of whether there can be such a thing as a Catholic curriculum, Therese D'Orsa argues
from the Australian experience that «attempts to give meaning to the concept of a Catholic curriculum... have ranged across a spectrum familiar to those who lead in Catholic schools» and that such initiatives have had a «limited impact».
I do take issue, however, with Hancock when he states that the natural sciences are «for the most part... safely insulated
from the
questions of ultimate purpose that condition our understanding of the meaning of
education.»
There is hardly a
question agitating the Church in America —
from higher
education and episcopal leadership to the sorry state of catechesis — that is not addressed here with intelligence, courage and a pastoral heart.
It is not my purpose to argue for the correctness of one or the other view of
education, only to note that these are issues over which reasonable people may differ, and to
question whether the State has a right to impose the first approach in the face of opposition
from parents.
Complicating the semi-utopian vision of my escape
from home was the nagging
question of whether my faith could survive anything but a Christian

question of our time: «Millennials who are facing the erosion of access to affordable quality
education and meaningful employment and who stand to inherit

from source (of «revelation,» of «wisdom about God,» etc.) to personal appropriation; or as a movement
from source to application of source in life (especially, perhaps, the life of church leadership); or as a movement
from source, to doctrines implicit in the source, to applications of doctrines to life's problems; or as a movement
from sources, to theories about the sources, to applications of those theories to life; or in some other way?
Other
questions include wrong assumptions about free housing and
education from the US Government.
How shall administrators and teachers gain help
from such generalities as they struggle to find answers to pressing
questions about the extension of the curriculum to four years, about the place in it of Greek and Hebrew, about making better provisions for the theological
education and employment of young women?
This meeting will be a chance for members to receive an update
from the secretariat on recent ESSNA activity, including on our lobbying, non-compliance, PR and consumer
education work, as well as ask
question and provide feedback to the ESSNA secretariat and officers.
