Taking a monochromatic grey palette as its organizing principle and aesthetic theoretical vehicle, this exhibition reveals the emergence of that which subtracts or divides — a polemics of black and white or the search for a middle ground, a shade of grey — in the work of artists from around the globe: including Shiva Ahmadi, Yasima Alaoui, Ayad Alkadhi, Afruz Amighi, Reza Aramesh, Shoja Azari & Shahram Karimi, Bruce High Quality Foundation, Dilip Chobisa, Seth Cameron, Arthur Carter, Noor Ali Chagani, Nick Farhi, Nir Hod, Rachael Lee Hovanian, Joseph Kosuth, Liane Lang, Farideh Lashai, Shirin Neshat, Enoc Perez, and Dan Witz, Grisaille: originally derived from a 19th century term for monochrome painting, especially the portrayal of three dimensional objects in two dimensional form, of which the work of British based Liane Lang in this exhibition approaches the closest contemporary example of this art historical origin, the gris or grisaille is updated in this exhibition to reflect the embattled gesture of not simply the monochromatic, but also any opposition to color as such, in at once its aesthetic and political modes.

Based in San Diego, installation artist Jean Lowe draws much of her inspiration from Southern California's generic suburban landscape, where candy colored stucco strip malls and endless concrete parking lots crisscross through various European architectural modes, disguising themselves as Disneyesque Roman remakes.

Paintings from the 1950s include such works as Stephen Pace's Untitled (51 - 90), a dynamic abstract painting in which forms move into and through the picture plane in the mode of the art of Pace's teacher Hans Hofmann, Melville Price's Untitled (ca. 1959), a gestural painting in the abstract expressionist idiom in which figurative elements have a suggestive presence, and George Segal's Three Nudes (1959), in which a psychological tension is conveyed in the expressively treated figures that are integrated into spaces defined by veils or blankets of color.

We note that Lenovo has included a small utility that switches the color profile of the display for user and task preference, from the «Native» setting with the most vibrant colors to a «Standard» setting that's muted somewhat, with additional settings for photo editing, video editing, and reading modes.

Use the Basic screen mode for the best color and image accuracy for most current consumer content, which is especially important when viewing photos from family and friends (because you often know exactly what they actually should look like), for some TV shows, movies, and sporting events with image content and colors that you are familiar with, and also for viewing online merchandise, so you have a very good idea of exactly what colors you are buying and are less likely to return them.

As is expected from an AMOLED screen, you get rich and vibrant colors with a lot of contrast, and the optional dark mode that is built - in to Oxygen OS takes fanastic advantage of the deep inky blacks.

This includes a more customizable Do Not Disturb, the option to remove icons from the status bar, and color calibration for your screen — plus a swipe up gesture that makes it even easier to enter Nougat's new split - screen mode.

Bonus: You can also change the display mode to make the colors on screen look more natural, although that takes away from the beauty of AMOLED displays.
