programs.110 More recently, Harriet MacMillan and colleagues published a review of
interventions to prevent child maltreatment, and identified the Nurse - Family Partnership and

programs as the most effective with regard to preventing maltreatment and childhood injuries.
Further, few studies have reported economic evaluations for
early intervention programs for children's mental health.7, 25,32 Such evaluations could include implementation service costs (training,
program materials, provider salaries), costs to families (time off work, transport costs), and later health / welfare costs saved
