mother and her ten puppies were pulled
from Louisiana by Mid American Boston Terrier Rescue; Jennifer Misfeldt of the Boston Rescue asked Big Red to take the mom and pups because they were too large of a breed of
dog for them.
The
dogs probably inherited distrustful genes
from their
mothers.
Be careful if the
dog you buy will be shipped
from far away, no other breeder or trainer speaks well of their breeding program, you can't get good references, you can't visit the father or
mother, and they are just interested in the money.
Remember that female
dogs are intentionally supposed to hold their puppies this way and they know how to and puppies do not resist their
mothers when they do; another factor is that they only hold them a few inches away
from the ground.
If the
mother dog is vaccinated, her puppies will get some immunity
from colostrum, her first milk.
Dogs can acquire roundworm infections
from their
mothers while in the uterus.
And I would not suggest getting any puppy where the
dogs were taken
from the
mother before 8 weeks of age.
