You have to wonder how much of that enjoyment stemmed from director Brad Bird as Hunt's latest adventure, Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation, directed by Christopher McQuarrie (who worked with Cruise in Jack Reacher) does little more than create some amazing set pieces for the 53 - year - old actor to leap, swim, and jump off of.
That should make for some decent counter programming for anyone who isn't interested in Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, which was also bumped up from its original Christmas Day release.
