Robert Smithson, an artist associated with the Land Art and Post-Minimalist movements, used natural objects in both his large - scale land installations, such as Spiral Jetty (1970), and his smaller museum installations made of stones and dirt removed from specific locations.
[22] The gallery - sized installation All the Submarines of the United States of America (1987) consists of 625 identical, small, handmade, painted - cardboard models that represent the entire United States submarine fleet dating from the late 1890s, when submarines entered the navy's arsenal, to the late 1980s.
The booth projected a clear vision, from the ombré color field paintings by Matti Braun and the small James Turrell light installation.
