We love
the frontal design of the car which is similar to the good looking Grand i10 but the boot does look a bit too plain as compared to the front.

The new small overlap
frontal crash test,
designed to simulate what would happen when the front corner
of a
car collides with another vehicle or object, constitutes the front end
of the driver's side striking a five - foot tall rigid barrier at 40 mph.
[2] Because the engine is not in the front, the
car can be
designed with a minimum amount
of frontal area perpendicular to the wind, greatly increasing aerodynamic efficiency.
As you can imagine,
designing a
car to absorb crash energy from a full -
frontal crash test is completely different than
designing a
car to better absorb crash energy directed at just a quarter
of the
frontal area.
This new test program is based on years
of analyzing real - world
frontal crashes and then replicating them in our crash test facility to determine how people are being seriously injured and how
cars can be
designed to protect them better.
Only 3
of 11 midsize luxury and near - luxury
cars evaluated earn good or acceptable ratings in the Institute's new small overlap
frontal crash test, the latest addition to a suite
of tests
designed to help consumers pick the safest vehicles.
The Ford Fusion / Mercury Milan is among only two current midsize
car designs (the other is the Dodge Stratus / Chrysler Sebring) that don't earn the highest rating
of good in the Institute's
frontal offset crash test.
A recent series
of frontal offset crash tests included three new small
car designs — Subaru Impreza, Mitsubishi Lancer and Volvo S40 — plus a newly
designed large pickup, the Dodge Ram, and a new minivan, the Kia Sedona.
ARLINGTON, Va. — A recent series
of frontal offset crash tests by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety included three new small
car designs — Subaru Impreza, Mitsubishi Lancer, and Volvo S40 — plus a newly
designed large pickup, the Dodge Ram, and a new minivan, the Kia Sedona.
All 2006 - 07 Fusion, Milan, and Zephyr / MKZ models manufactured after January 2006 include a hard plastic «ramp» bolted above or below the carpeting near the base
of the accelerator pedal
designed to decrease right leg and foot injury risk in
frontal offset crashes (note: information about when a specific vehicle was manufactured is on the certification label typically affixed to the
car on or near the driver door).
The
car was also equipped with automatic emergency braking that is
designed to automatically apply the brakes to reduce the severity
of or assist in avoiding
frontal collisions.
