In the winter I always use
frozen organic berries in my smoothies as they have just as much goodness as the ones in the supermarkets since berries aren't in season at the moment.
My current favorite method is
adding frozen organic berries to the kombucha (once the SCOBY has been removed and added to a new batch) to make a really carbonated and slightly sweet soda - type drink.
1 scoop Pure Food Cacao Protein Powder 1/2
cup frozen organic berries 1 T organic chia seeds (flax, hemp, or pumpkin work too) Handful of ice 2 cups of water (or almond or coconut milk)
I would love to know where you get
your frozen organic berries from.
Ingredients:
Frozen organic berries, agar agar (to make berry jam solidify slightly), maple syrup (to sweeten the oat cookies, jam, and PB mousse), natural unsweetened peanut butter, GMO - free silken tofu (for the pb mousse filling), soaked cashews and oats (for the raw crust / cookies).
Another trick I have found to make these smoothies more affordable too, is to buy
the frozen organic berries in bulk whenever possible.
Vanilla Berry Blast 1 scoop Pure Food Vanilla Protein Powder 1/2 cup
frozen organic berries 1 T organic chia seeds 3 - 4 ice cubes 12 oz.
I love how Target is a one stop shop, so we proceeded to pick up
some frozen organic berries and other fresh fruit, and we had everything to make our smoothie bowls.

I checked on all the items I typically buy at Whole Foods — including organic produce, my favorite brand of dark chocolate, nut butter,
frozen organic berries, and organic wine — and they ranged from 50 cents to $ 2 cheaper at 365.
Frozen organic berries and cherries are available at BJ's and Costco.
