When I first started playing with this idea, I was thinking of just putting the yogurt in a ready - made
pie crust and sprinkle granola on
top and let it
freeze.
We ate some out of hand, then I made jam, marmalade, ice cream
topping, preserves, and cherry butter, but I
froze 6 pounds to use in
pies.
We just took out one or two of the
pies wrapped in aluminum, took the aluminum off the
top, carefully removed the
pie crust from the wax paper and laid the
frozen crust on
top of the
pie filling.
Spread the
frozen fruit over the bottom of your
pie dish and
top with the crumble, ensuring it covers the fruit evenly.
We tried
freezing a few
pies for a few weeks, and, reheated and
topped with vanilla ice cream, they were even better than the first time!

«In college, I once had the brilliant idea to broil the
top of a
frozen chicken pot
pie that I had just finished cooking in the oven.
This dead - easy, super-refreshing yogurt - based
frozen treat is the perfect topper for anything from fresh farmstand fruit to
pie and is sweetened lightly enough that you could throw granola on
top and eat it for breakfast.
I often make
pie dough and will line a tart pan and
freeze, this tart is delicious, no animal products were used in making it but you can easily adapt using cream for the ganache and whipped cream to
top it.
