I really had no idea what exactly a
fruit puree was
so I googled «
fruit puree recipe» and found that it is simply 1 pound of
fruit, 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice.
You can definitely skip the prunes and do all butter but this is basically a
fruit cake
so the prune
puree works.
You could make the frosting ahead of time and just store in the fridge, but add the blueberry
fruit puree until the day you're frosting / serving the cake
so the colour is super vibrant.
The
fruit puree is quite runny
so the parchment paper soaks up the liquid and crinkles underneath (making the
