As a
single player experience, Hell Warders is pretty
frustrating as it is nearly impossible for one
player to dash around the map and dispatch those enemies that have thwarted the defenses, all the while trying to collect power ups and healing items and move defensive units.
These problems combined with the
frustrating AI partners and the linearity of the
single player make this game fall short of the excellent
experience it could have been.
Granted that the
single player experience isn't really a main selling point to the game, but as a bit of side fluff it's still a fairly
frustrating experience on higher levels of difficulty.
One of our level designers on the multiplayer side had a lot of
experience as a
single -
player level designer and was absolutely
frustrated by the randomness.
As a
single player experience, the randomness and other
frustrating elements are only magnified, without the interactions with friends to make them more ironic and enjoyable.
As a
single player title Operation Raccoon City is a hollow, completely
frustrating experience.
