The quantity is obtained by subtracting the estimated denaturant volume from
fuel ethanol volume.

Just been looking up the sources for commercial CO2 and here is a short exerpt from google: «The most common operations from which commercially - produced carbon dioxide is recovered are industrial plants which produce hydrogen or ammonia from natural gas, coal, or other hydrocarbon feedstock, and large -
volume fermentation operations in which plant products are made into
ethanol for human consumption, automotive
fuel or industrial use.
A decade ago Congress passed legislation creating the federal Renewable

In 2007, Congress set annual statutory
volumes for
ethanol, divided into two main categories: total renewable
fuel and «advanced» biofuels.
fuel mixtures containing 85 percent or more by
volume of methanol, denatured
ethanol, and other alcohols with gasoline or other
fuels
Two ads have been running heavily in the Washington, D.C., market and in some other markets in advance of a Nov. 30 deadline for the EPA to finalize requirements for the total
volume of
ethanol to be put into gasoline, and for other renewable
fuels.
Next month EPA is scheduled to finalize 2014, 2015 and 2016
ethanol - use requirements under the Renewable
Fuel Standard (RFS)-- and where EPA sets the
volume standards could have big impacts on consumers and our economy.
We've been talking about flaws in the RFS for some time, and the chorus of voices has grown because requiring increasing
volumes of
ethanol in the nation's
fuel supply could affect vehicle owners, consumers paying for
fuel and food, the environment and the global food supply.
There's just one problem: Despite Washington's mandates — which fall on refiners and producers of motor
fuels like ExxonMobil — cellulosic
ethanol doesn't actually exist in any meaningful
volumes.
The history of the RFS is that EPA's enthusiasm for the program has seen the agency mandate ever - increasing
volumes of
ethanol in the
fuel supply, potentially putting consumers at risk by pushing
fuels into the marketplace that could damage the engines of vehicles, motorcycles, boats and small power equipment.
Greco said API asked EPA to set the
volume requirements no higher than 9.7 percent of gasoline demand to help avoid the blend wall and to protect strong consumer demand for
ethanol - free
fuel.
For the Renewable
Fuel Standard (RFS), that means aligning
ethanol volume requirements with market realities.
When EPA green - lighted E15 use, it knew E15 vehicle testing was ongoing but decided not to wait for the results — most likely to raise the permissible concentration level of
ethanol in
fuels so that greater
volumes could be used, as required by the Renewable
Fuel Standard (RFS).
