In some cases, the delayed throttle response you're talking about is caused by a faulty electronic throttle control or excessive carbon deposits on
fuel system components like the throttle body, fuel injectors and mass air flow sensor.
Whether the fuel pump is new or old, the pressure has to be tested on the fuel rail to be sure the pump, and other
fuel system components such as the filter, regulator, etc., are actually working.
