Operating cost for electric cars is $ 0.50 to $ 0.75 per mile versus $ 0.10 for gasoline powered cars once battery replacement costs are included By 2020, Chinese PER CAPITA emissions will be higher than America's Does not believe that the 0.6 degree temperature rise to date is the West's «fault,» but does believe that China is the future problem Whatever U.S. does about emissions reduction and what people do as individuals is totally trivial in face of the fact that China is adding huge amounts of coal fired generating capacity The most meaningful emissions reduction strategy today would be to convert China from coal to natural gas The claim that there are more frequent or more intense hurricanes and tornadoes as a result of AGW is not scientifically supported We can reduce emissions, but it is important that we do the RIGHT things (and NOT the WRONG ones) Not worried about «peak oil;» coal can be converted to liquid fuel
Much of the harm these events cause in Europe comes from physical damage to its industrial life support system, as the global average temperature continues to rise as a consequence of warming driven by ever higher greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere, in response to the profligate global consumption of fossil fuels.
In order to achieve the target set by the Paris Agreement --- to limit the rise in global average temperature to below the 2 degree C threshold — all new construction must be designed to high energy efficiency standards and use no CO2 - emitting fossil fuel energy to operate; by 2050 the entire built environment must be carbon neutral.

«Climate science» as it is used by warmists implies adherence to a set of beliefs: (1) Increasing greenhouse gas concentrations will warm the Earth's surface and atmosphere; (2) Human production of CO2 is producing significant increases in CO2 concentration; (3) The rate of rise of temperature in the 20th and 21st centuries is unprecedented compared to the rates of change of temperature in the previous two millennia and this can only be due to rising greenhouse gas concentrations; (4) The climate of the 19th century was ideal and may be taken as a standard to compare against any current climate; (5) global climate models, while still not perfect, are good enough to indicate that continued use of fossil fuels at projected rates in the 21st century will cause the CO2 concentration to rise to a high level by 2100 (possibly 700 to 900 ppm); (6) The global average temperature under this condition will rise more than 3 °C from the late 19th century ideal; (7) The negative impact on humanity of such a rise will be enormous; (8) The only alternative to such a disaster is to immediately and sharply reduce CO2 emissions (reducing emissions in 2050 by 80 % compared to today's rate) and continue further reductions after 2050; (9) Even with such draconian CO2 reductions, the CO2 concentration is likely to reach at least 450 to 500 ppm by 2100 resulting in significant damage to humanity; (10) Such reductions in CO2 emissions are technically feasible and economically affordable while providing adequate energy to a growing world population that is increasingly industrializing.
If the hydrogen is produced by high temperature nuclear reactors (like the HTR), the cost of the fuel could be halved.

Caused by the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, agricultural practices, and other human impacts, climate change has currently raised temperatures 0.8 degrees Celsius (1.44 degrees Fahrenheit) higher than the Industrial Revolution average.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change highlights that many of these events are exacerbated by the higher temperatures caused by the burning of fossil fuels, although science still largely falls short of being able to attribute them directly.
The use of nuclear energy to produce liquid fuels is very economic at this point of time, and whilst the production of hydrogen from nuclear electricity is expensive the cost can be reduced by using high temperature steam from nuclear reactors for high temperature electrolysis.
This is the year in which membership of the Green Party has doubled; the year in which the IPCC made it clearer than ever that we have to completely give up fossil fuels by 2050 or face catastrophic climate consequences; the year in which climate change made itself more than evident as temperatures in Europe hit their highest since the 1500s.
