Typically hot chocolate mixes are full of white sugar and poor quality dairy powders.

I used a full bar of Ghirardelli semi-sweet baking chocolate chopped up and added directly in, then when they came hot out of the oven I added another chopped bar to the top, waited for it to melt, then smeared it on as a topping.

I wanted it to be special and chock full of healing, nourishing ingredients... and so, the idea for Golden Hot Chocolate was born.
