Tapeworms are segmented, and you may see segments caught in your dog's
fur around the anus.
Many times, dogs with tapeworms will actually have worm segments stuck to or crawling on
the fur around their anus (this is called the «perianal area»), and in their feces.
When the worm segments dry out, it leaves behind small hard yellow eggs that can also be stuck to the dog's
fur around the anus.
Sometimes owners will notice tapeworm segments on
fur around the anus, or even see long stringy worms in the stool.
