Again, with Mafia 3 being an open world game, a lot of it can be spent behind the wheel of a car as you travel to and from different parts of the city going from one objective to another and while it isn't so much of a problem early in the game, the lack of a fast travel
option becomes quite a hindrance as time goes on and the
further you get in the game because at times it will force you to travel huge distances to speak two lines of
dialogue with someone for example and then makes you drive all the way back to where you were originally, which becomes a bit of a chore, but the car handling isn't bad and it almost feels like you are driving a car from the 60's as it feels heavy and limited as you manoeuvre certain cars around a corner.
BattleTech also gives you the occasional
dialogue option that doesn't influence anything, as
far as I can tell, but let me more confidently roleplay as the commander I wanted to be.
NPCs offer multiple
dialogue options, and opportunities for extra information on your objectives, but many serve only to immerse yourself
further in the world.
As
far as the audio, there's an
option for either Japanese or English
dialogue which is accompanied by some generic sub-standard rock music.
You can now choose from up to four emotional responses during conversations, allowing for a much more natural flow to
dialogue, although situations where you're only provided two
options that are practically identical do crop up
far too often, and this element of «choice» is more of an illusion than an actual
dialogue tree.
