The amino acids glycine
and proline have been shown effective for preventing
and treating ulcers, at least in rat studies.16 - 17 Glutamic acid, more commonly known as glutamine, also seems to help prevent gut
inflammation and reduce the
oxidative stress thought to cause leaky gut.18 Scientists have
further linked low collagen levels to inflammatory bowel disease.19 While collagen supplements may or may not heal your gut, they certainly won't hurt it.
