console simply can't power the same
game that runs on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and that's going to keep the next «Call of Duty» from the Switch.
While those
consoles aren't identical, they have enough in common that
game developers can make
games for both relatively easily.

not just the expensive, gory and violent shooters that have become the bread and butter of home

game or an updated version of the

It's
not a surprise to have a rich holiday catalog of top - tier
games when you're three years into a
console cycle.

not to say that the Xbox One X is overpriced — this is a state - of - the - art home
game console, after all — but we should acknowledge that the prospect of owning an Xbox One X may hurt your wallet.
And as the recent, technically troubled launch of publisher / developer Blizzard's record - selling Diablo III for PC suggests, it isn't clear that the industry has the database and server muscle to handle multiple AAA
games (such as Call of Duty) being sold digitally for the much larger
console market.
That brings up an interesting chicken - or - the - egg question: are publishers waiting until there are more Xbox One and PS4
consoles in the wild to maximize their sales, and if so, why would anyone buy the machines if there aren't many
games to play on them?

Some day in the
not - too - distant future, both PVRs and
game consoles — with all their attendant wires — will be a thing of the past.
For one, 4K televisions are expected to rise in popularity in the coming years, and
consoles not supporting 4K could be a deal - breaker for some
gamers.
It will certainly give the company's
console a lift, but as the initial launch showed, a great
game isn't enough to get
gamers to forgive the price premium.
That might
not go over so well with
gamers who have spent hundreds of dollars on their existing
consoles.
Still, PlayStation 4 owners who play the same
game as PlayStation Neo owners likely won't get the same experience due to the new
consoles» improved components.
Its recently released
game Guacamelee for those same
consoles is an even bigger hit, garnering
not just critical acclaim (I thoroughly enjoyed it), but also financial success.
The newest «Super Mario»
game isn't coming to a Nintendo
game console, but to Apple's iPhone and iPad.
But a neat gimmick isn't enough to sell a
game console, and Nintendo knows it.
One of the best — if
not the best —
game series on the previous generation of
consoles was the «Mass Effect» trilogy.

game purchases are helping Sony too, even with
games that Sony itself doesn't publish;
console makers typically take a cut of up to 30 % from downloads of
