Today's Nintendo Direct
showed off more footage of the
game, including
cutscenes that are having fun with shonen anime tropes.
If you are unfamiliar with the
game, you basically start things off with a
cutscene showing how miserable you are working in a corporate office.
The cinematic opening and the CG story
cutscene that starts off the
game are truly gorgeous, and I wish that the style
shown in them had been implemented throughout the
game's other
cutscenes, but being able to see the character I created take part in later story - focused
cutscenes was a welcome trade - off, especially since they were still smoothly animated and well done.
The
game doesn't shy away from
showing cutscenes that advance the story and they often look gorgeous and feature detailed character models that are not seen during actual gameplay.
Hopefully the trailer will
show, if not a full gameplay scenario with UI and all, some footage of the
game that isn't a
cutscene or isn't scripted.
It
shows some footage of both
games and some of the touch screen controls, such as peeking around corners, using the binoculars and zooming in during
cutscenes.
Beyond these details, the trailer is filled with pretty scenes
showing off the
game's fantastic graphics, includes a lot of outlaws doing outlawed things, horses (obviously) and many scripted events from

As unprofessional as this trailer seems, I actually really appreciate the authenticity of seeing someone playing the
game rather than being

cutscenes and artwork that say nothing about gameplay, so props for that.

cutscenes is nothing new, the characters are a lot more believable and relatable than previous
games, where they tended to just be
showing off battle skills or spouting out proverbs to sound intelligent.
