This month has been filled with small game surprises on Nintendo Switch, with almost every week being jam - packed with indie titles and classic
game ports making the system's library even more appealing.

A pretty good job
porting the
game, but if you don't get into this
game for the sake of
make a run at the top of the leaderboard, or if you're not a shooter aficionado, you're probably not going to be to enthralled by this
game.
So yeah I'm cool with the
ports of PS3 and 360
games, so long as
making ports of these
games don't take priority over creating new
games.
The compromised controls don't ruin what is still a fun
game to this day, but the lack of precision certainly
makes it feel like an inferior
port if you have the option to get it on PS3, Vita or PC.
But no matter how high the production value is, or how flawless the
port is, it's still a
port of a
game made for mobile devices, and at a much, much higher price than what we're used.
Sure, you can fix the issue with a combination of firewall exceptions,
port forwarding, deleting certain programs and a whole lot of other work, but it just isn't worth it when literally no other
game has
made me do this before.
As with the original Divinity: Original Sin, Larian aren't just
porting the
game across, but are
making changes and reworking parts of the
game in the process.
Exclusive characters from this handheld
port of the
game, like Toon Link and Tetra, will be
made transferable to the original Wii U version, but so far there has been no confirmation of them being
made available as standalone DLC.
Kotaku's resident video
game expert (and avowed Bayonetta fan) Tim Rogers
made a video answering a bunch of technical questions people had for him about the
port and the
game overall, which I recommend watching if you're curious how the Switch version stacks up:
«The reasoning for the Switch content: we're
making continuous updates to a
game that's turning five years old this year, and to get the
game out in early 2018 on Switch meant that our team had to go with the content
ported and available at the time of console submission,» Starbreeze told the site.
In collaboration with Sonic Team, the
game is being
made by Headcannon, PagodaWest
Games, and Christian Whitehead, who gained resonance in Sonic fan culture when he helped Sega
port the original
games to mobile.
I enjoyed this DQ
game on the console it was designed for long long ago but given what I've read about the many bad decisions
made in creating this lazy iOS
port I can't justify the purchase price.
Once they cracked how to
make Dragon Quest VIII work well on mobile, it paved the way for the older, less graphically intensive
games in the series, like the excellent
port of Dragon Quest IV.

The
port is technically solid and only benefits from the system's portability and HD Rumble, which undeniably
makes this the definitive version of this already great
game.
Gobtron [$ 1.99] from Juicy Beast Studio started out as a Flash
game a few years ago, and last week an iOS
port made its way into the App Store.
Crafted by people with experience creating their own fangames in the past and
making polished
ports of the classic
games themselves in more recent years, Sonic Mania is a realization of what Sonic was and what it can still be.
Releasing old reissues for 80 dollars a pop for
games that are 10 - 30 years old is a joke and for everyone wondering if the smash bros isnt a
port, do you really think they would have forgotten to mention it was a new
game if it was a new
game???? That would be the centerpiece of marketing but the fact they left it out is obvious its the same
game they sold you on the last console which also had a couple new
games and mostly weak releases that
made no one but the system.
The Switch's relative similarity in power to the PS3 presumably meant that the Omega Force team already knew where to
make the nips and tucks in order to keep the
game running at a decent lick, and it certainly seems as though this is a faithful, and more importantly, functional
port.
One thing people may not realize is that Ridge Racer 6 is one of the few
games on the launch lineup that is not just a
port from a previous
game; Ridge Racer 6 is a totally new
game made for the Xbox 360.

This week the Argosy captain
made port in Sarah's offline
game, allowing her to trade some rare materials she'd earned last episode.
The Zelda - themed brawler is
making the jump to the Nintendo Switch with all the content and DLC from the original Wii U and 3DS
port of the
game.
We do know, however, when the
game released shortly after its announcement during September's Nintendo Direct, that the Nintendo theme and skin packs didn't
make the platform
port.
Developers
make best decisions when it comes to
games, however 3rd parties give up because they need to deal with «
porting» or programming the Wii U Gamepad into it.
According to information received by Siliconera, the 2 ToeJam & Earl
games «ToeJam & Earl» and «ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron» are set to be re-released via SEGA's Vintage Collection; a series of upscaled
ports of classic SEGA
games made available on Playstation Network and X-Box Live Arcade.
While plenty of
games have
made the leap from Nintendo handhelds to mobile in recent years, from The World Ends With You to Layton's Mystery Journey, Capcom's sudden
port of Monster Hunter Stories is still quite the surprise.
Pokemon wise, I think they'll either
port Sun & Moon or they're
making the 3rd
game version of Gen 7 for NX instead of the 3DS.

The release of the Nintendo Switch version
makes it the first time this
game has been
ported to the Nintendo Switch and those who have waited for a portable experience can enjoy this complete edition with all of the bonus DLC included.
Unfortunately, this so called definitive edition has flaws and
makes it hard to suggest the Switch
port is the best way to play this
game.
Last year we
made the case that Wii U
ports for Switch are a very good thing - a chance to bulk up the library of Nintendo's new hybrid console with an array of quality
games that never quite got the exposure they deserved.
A save - anywhere system is all thats needed to
make hordes of Hotline Miami players stick with it through the tough sections — though we're guessing that wont be a feature in the
games upcoming PS3 and Vita
port.
And finally, the fantasy announcements that I don't at all expect would be the announcement of
games like Endless Ocean 3 for the Wii U and a new Chibi Robo and / or
port of the Chibi Robo America never got, and translated Gamecube
games that never
made it West coming to the VC.
To
make a valid point yes, Wii U
games look slightly better then current gen consoles, but hey most
games are upscaled
ports new controls etc, within the coming year the difference between current gen and Wii U will be noticeable better quite a lot, just wait for the 2nd gen
games on Wii U which are
made specifically for that console.
So they
port it, if it hits they will
make a new
game specifically for that system using that systems power.
By now, you've already
made up your mind about Diablo III, and this Ultimate Evil edition — a next - gen repackaging of the console
port of the original
game plus the Reaper of Souls expansion — probably won't change that.
What
makes it so significant is the fact that it is one of the largest and most complex
games on the Wii, and yet, it was somehow
ported in its entirety to a handheld.

game, albeit a gorgeous wii
game, but up scaled into 1080p, while zelda will be
made form the ground up on wii u, an so will look light years better!
So it's a
port of a 3ds remake of a wii
game, which
makes it even more impressive.
Project Cars is one of the most ambitious
games to date, but with several cross-platform
games having problems on the Wii U, the developers wanted to
make sure that fans know that while the PC is considered the lead platform for the development team, the Wii U version will not be a simple
port.
I know this is supposed to be a HD
port of the 3DS version, but they really needed to put more effort in and
make it feel like a home console
game.
So it's a good
game with many cool features but the fact that it's in Native 1080p HD
makes it a «shitty HD -
port.»
also to remove anyone's $ 15 - $ 20
games without giving a credit is really weird I want a real dead space

games from consoles like even if it's connecting to my steam box or ps4 Xbox one m. I remembered waiting years for that one to
make it where it streaked
games on IOS but the apple version never got approved I forget the site it might still be up.
Either way, if this ends up being a
port or a remaster, it will be yet another Zelda
game that has
made its way to a console beyond the original.
The PC
port is infamous for its atrocious quality but it was fixed thanks to the work of some PC modders that
made it playable and arguably the definitive version of the
game.
