This weekend saw the start of Summer Games Done Quick, a twice - yearly event featuring some of the world's best video
game speed runners coming together to break records and beat big bads.

Speed Battle is an online multiplayer version of their endless
runner and takes place in Sonic Forces settings.
I'm not a

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rooftop Run — I want to say this is perhaps the best endless
runner I've ever played, but to be honest, it practically transcends the genre; better to think of this as more of a «
speed running action
game.»
Unlike Sonic Dash, though,
Speed Battle is not an endless
runner, replacing this mechanic with a multiplayer aspect, allowing
gamers to directly compete against three other players in live races — with actual finish lines to each stage.
And for
speed runners, the
game automatically saves your best times for each room in the castle.
They set odd stipulations for their run (such as races between several different
speed runners, or beating the original Legend of Zelda without the sword from the beginning of the
game) and the entire thing is streamed live on Twitch.
The
game is an automatic
runner, meaning the character begins to move forward as soon as the
game starts, and picks up
speed as you progress through the level.
