But there's a difference — I can concede that the more indie-esque games have solid gameplay, whereas the rest of the staff often finds
gameplay issues in games I love — things I often am able to overlook.

There are a few
issues with
gameplay as some levels are ridiculous on what you are supposed to do, especially at Chapter 13, but they are small hitches
in an otherwise great
game.

in the NUNS series, the fighting and the characters are nicely balanced, with every character being fun to play and viable at the same time, the
game runs smoothly without frame - rate
issues and the cell - shaded graphics, character models, arenas and effects alike are nice to the eye, battles are divided into rounds, with all the tiny nice stuff like character introductions and outros being intact (fun fact: the characters will even comment on their score after the battle), the
game also features an awakening system, called the «Seventh Sense» awakening, unlike the NUNS awakening system which became severely unbalanced
in the later
game, every character simply gains a damage / defense boost, with the conditions being the same for all characters, eliminating situations when one character can use awakening at almost any point
in the battle, or one awakening being drastically stronger than the other, the
game has a story mode with three story arcs used to unlock characters, a collection mode, tournament modes, a survival mode, a series of special versus modes and online battle modes.
It only would have needed some small
gameplay design tweeks and some technical
issues resolved to have been perfect...
in fact, out of the 8 Silent Hill
games, I would rank Downpour
in my top 3; if you haven't checked it out yet, Downpour is definitely worth a playthrough.
Although it was seen as one of the best
games back
in 2005, Shadow of the Colossus was plagued by
issues with the controls and some
gameplay mechanics, which couldn't be alleviated by the folks over at Bluepoint
Games who remastered and released the HD version on PlayStation 3

Constant improvements to all versions of the
game have made it much better to play over the last year or so, and release of the console versions coincide with several bugfixes, including fixes for crashing
issues (of the
game, that is - your own crashing
issues are probably driver error...), improved wheel and controller support, and subtle tweaks to the
gameplay, including backfiring noises
in certain cars.
While graphically beautiful thanks to the Unreal engine the sheer simplicity of the
gameplay, repetitive nature of the character taunts and some alarming texture pop -

Each stage
in the
game takes players through various London landscapes, all of which are quite interesting to gaze at
in passing, however whilst they come off as 2D
in appearance,
gameplay is actually more 2.5 D. And that brings us to my first
issue with Bloody Zombies.
Coincidentally, the
game I associate with Ninja Theory the most is Enslaved: Journey to the West, a
game that had excellent
gameplay paired with, what were
in my opinion, strange characterization

Thousands of players taxing the servers, experimenting with
gameplay systems and reporting what they find (or not — most developers can monitor metrics from your
game, even if you don't specifically report anything) is one of the best ways for developers to patch

I'd love to go on and on about the massive amount of
gameplay that can be done later on
in the
game but I need to point out a few
issues, you can see straight away Shoppe Keep is a port and from the looks of things hasn't been done very well, the pictures used on the purchasing menu are too difficult to see to a point that you can't read the writing at all, even the pause menu is setup for a mouse, the 5 options would have been easy to scroll up and down with your thumbstick or D - pad but it has been left as a point and click cursor as a console player this didn't cut the mustard for me.
The different weapons included
in the
game do enhance the
gameplay but are once again hampered by the graphical
issues.
However, the
game's biggest
issue is not the repetition of the environments, but the repetition
in gameplay.
The
game runs smoothly and without any kind of problems with button lag or control
issues, with Titan Attacks being such a simplistic
game it makes it difficult to come out with any faults
in the
gameplay.
The basic
gameplay in the latest Spiderman is really enjoyable and had me excited to start the next mission but the lack of a more fleshed out story and a few polish
issues combined with the repetitious mission structure have this
game just falling short from becoming the next Arkham Asylum.
Additionally, since the
game features two protagonists that are working together — which was a first
in the series at the time, new
gameplay systems are
in place so that players can freely switch between the two,
issue orders, and more.

Star Fox Guard may have
issues with being a case of too little to late but it is still a pretty good
game in its own rights, as I stated earlier I am not typically a tower defence fan but the way this

gameplay not flowing as well as many would expect.
The
game is like most anime titles, a reiteration of the canon story, but the
gameplay itself is so much fun that a fan can easily look past its
issues in covering the series» story.
I think if the
gameplay issues with Ara Fell were addressed
in a subsequent title with a similarly interesting story, it could create a fantastic
game.
