I make tons of homemade
pesto and freeze it every summer with a
basil / arugula / spinach / kale blend of greens from my
garden and now I have yet one more use for my stash of frozen
pesto.
I actually have a giant
basil plant in my
garden so I would love to try it with some fresh
pesto and veggies!

I have an
garden plot with nothing but
basil in it — and my freezer's full of
pesto (so it was ironic that I had to buy
basil for this post, for the purpose of showing how to make the
pesto).
If your
garden is overflowing with fresh, fragrant
basil, then whip up a bowl of traditional
pesto!
Tip: Using only
basil in
pesto can be pretty pricey and if you're like me and grow herbs in your
garden or in pots around your house, you don't want to take a whole bunch for just for one recipe, so using spinach and other herbs helps!
