garlic chives on top, or fry an egg.
A sprinkling of Parmesan, capers, and fresh
garlic chives on top, and I have to tell you, it's a thing of beauty.
This warming soup leaves the pleasant tang of cilantro and
garlic chives on the tongue.

I just gorged myself senseless
on heavenly
garlic chive and mushroom pot stickers the other day.
Directions: Using a mortar and pestle, or a small grinder, mix
garlic, ginger and half of the peanut oil to form a thick paste / Add other spices, half of the water (1/2 C) to this mix, stir together and set aside / In a sauce pan, heat the other tablespoon of oil to medium hot, add cumin and mustard seeds and allow them to sizzle momentarily / Add spice paste, turn heat to medium low, and while stirring, allow to cook for 1 to 2 minutes / Add cauliflower and potatoes, sweet or hot pepper if using / Stir together so that vegetables are coated with the spices / Add the other 1/2 C water, place a lid
on, and simmer for 10 — 15 minutes, until vegetables are tender / Remove lid and simmer for another 5 minutes / If vegetables are done, remove them from the pan and continue to simmer the sauce until it reduces and thickens slightly — just a minute or two / Add roasted asparagus to the bowl / Spoon sauce over winter and spring veggies, sprinkle with
chives.
Also, try wrapping some around a mix of sauteed mushrooms with soy /
garlic / scallion /
chive and then pan frying them, and drizzle some Worcestershire sauce
on top.

garlic, 2 t jalapeno, more or less, depending
on taste, 1 T lime juice, 1 t cumin, 2 t fresh oregano / kernels from two ears of corn / 1 C fresh tomatoes, coarsely chopped / 2 C fresh ricotta mixed with 2 T each finely chopped
chives and basil or oregano, 1/2 t salt, 1/4 t pepper / 1 sliced avocado / 1/2 C cilantro / 2 T butter for sautéing tortillas.

I've done plain, cheddar, ground flax (actually, I always add the ground flax - 3 or 4 heaping teaspoons of it, it doesn't really change the flavor too much), 5 cheese, and tomorrow's is going to be
garlic &
chive (to be served toasted with cheddar
on top... Mmm!).

on Saturday with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and
garlic from our CSA pick - up, along with parsley,
chives and mint from our garden, and didn't utter the 8 letter word.

They contained a hodgepodge of things beyond the usual essentials, a couple blankets and pillows since we slept
on the floor the first few nights, toothpaste, cat - related stuff... bags of dried
garlic chives, dill, rosemary, thyme, parsley, basil, dried peppers, and finally... 10 bulbs of
garlic.
You can also experiment with
chives or spring onions (or green / spring
garlic if you can get your hands
on it) but like I say - totally fine to leave it out too.
Garnish away: Put the
chives on the gravy, the thyme
on the mashed potatoes, and the
garlic chips
on the green bean salad.
Rely
on aromatics like fresh
garlic,
chives, or vibrant fresh herbs to liven up a dish without the use of dairy, wheat, or unhealthy fats.
Onions, along with leeks,
garlic,
chives, shallots, and scallions, make up the allium family of vegetables, which have beneficial effects
on the cardiovascular and immune systems, as well as anti-diabetic and anti-cancer effects.
