Americans with household incomes of $ 100,000 or more are significantly more likely than those with lower incomes to
give high
marks to their community's
schools (60 % vs. 46 %).

In another Gallup poll in 2012, only 19 percent of the public
gave an A or a B to the nation's public
schools, but 77 percent of parents awarded high
marks to their own public
school, the one they knew best.
All six evaluations, which include today's two new results, have found this approach to have a
marked positive impact: the programmes resulted in an additional two to four months» progress for pupils,
giving teachers and
school leaders solid evidence on the best ways to use teaching assistants in their classroom.
But Americans have long been of two minds about the quality of the nation's
schools — with most
giving their local
schools high
marks but education in the United States far lower levels of approval on the whole.
