After about a year of frequently doing this, not just in the mountains, but
at red lights, etc., the 3rd
gear suddenly now has a terrible time shifting.
I want to be able to go faster in first
gear because when I'm stopped
at a
red light and I take off, the cars in front of me take off very fast, and I go very slowly, and I feel like I'm being a nuisance for the cars that are behind me.

red zone
at 7,500 rpm.
Actual observed fuel economy landed just a bit south of the 36 mpg combined rating; we ended up doing a lot of driving around town, rather than interstate, and that meant lots of sitting
at red lights and first
gear starts uphill.
