To further characterize HPP - 4382, we screened a selection
of alternative genes for expression: two
markers of endoplasmic - or
general cellular stress, HSPA6 and GADD45A, and ICAM1, a target

deCODE AF ™ measures both
of these
markers, and approximately 25 %
of the
general population is positive for the test, corresponding to a 1.8-fold increase in risk
of AF compared to the rest
of the population.

Take cynicism, for example: A 2014 study published in the journal Neurology linked high levels
of cynicism later in life, i.e. a
general distrust
of people (and their motives), to a greater risk
of dementia compared to those who were more trusting, even after accounting for other risk factors like age, sex, certain heart health
markers, smoking status, and more.
We also do conventional blood testing, but test for more than a GP generally would — for instance Homo cysteine and Protein A, which are important
markers which fall «outside» the scope
of general medical practice, but are nevertheless important predictability
markers to more fully assess your risk
of heart and vascular disease than cholesterol alone.

Frustration acted as a
general risk factor predicting severity
of maladjustment; low Effortful Control and Fear acted as dimension - specific risk factors that predicted a particular type
of psychopathology; whereas Shyness, High - Intensity Pleasure, and Affiliation acted as direction
markers that steered the conditional probability
of internalizing versus externalizing problems, in the event
of maladjustment.
With regard to familial loading and temperament, it is important to distinguish
general risk factors (Frustration) from dimension - specific risk factors (familial loadings, Effortful Control, Fear), and direction
markers that act as pathoplastic factors (Shyness, High - Intensity Pleasure, Affiliation) from both types
of risk factors.

Although the secure vs. insecure attachment distinction has some predictive validity, disorganized attachment has far better documented links with specific types
of psychopathology than do other types
of insecurity.4, 9 Still, much less is understood about the mechanisms through which disorganized attachment affects the expression
of psychopathology in the child, and whether it is a specific contributor or a more
general marker for psychopathology in
general.
The results suggest clearly diverging temperament profiles for these groups
of children, with High - Intensity Pleasure and Shyness (representing the broad dimension
of Surgency) steering the conditional probability
of internalizing and externalizing problems (direction
markers), Frustration mainly being related to maladaptation in
general (severity
marker), and Fear and Effortful Control being associated with both the severity and the direction
of internalizing and externalizing problems, respectively.
Research suggests that an overgeneral autobiographical memory style (i.e., retrieval
of general memories when instructed to retrieve a specific episodic memory) represents a vulnerability
marker for depression.
