Well, we might have just what you've been waiting for — the next
generation BlackBerry Curve.
It seems like forever ago that we found about RIM's plans for the next -
generation BlackBerry Curve, originally codenamed and referred to by all as the Javelin.

While the last few
generations of
Curve have not had any charging contacts along the bottom for use with a Charging Stand or Charging Pod accessory, we're guessing we should see some
BlackBerry or third party charging stands show up for the 9380 which will slot nicely into this port.
For those who value the
BlackBerry way of getting things done, the
Curve 9380 out of the box with
BlackBerry 7 makes for a more feature rich phone than any previous
generation of
BlackBerry.
Here in this roadmap we see the
BlackBerry Bold Touch, Torch 2, and the new
generation Curve.
Following up the
BlackBerry Curve 85xx series and
BlackBerry Curve 3G series, the next
generation of
BlackBerry Curve (we're not sure on naming yet) looks to be stellar upgrade for what RIM considers to be their entry level line of smartphone, giving it a big boost in speed and a sleek new look.
With the
BlackBerry Curve 3G and
BlackBerry Pearl 3G, RIM did the right thing in my opinion - they made it clear to owners that they had a uniquely different device from previous
generations, and gave it a name that refers to multiple devices within that
generation of device (the
Curve 3G 9300/9330 and Pearl 3G 9100/9105).

While the launch of the
BlackBerry Storm2 on Verizon is widely expected to take place on October 28th and the Bold 9700 is so close we can almost taste it, owners of current
generation BlackBerry smartphones — the Pearl Flip 8220/8230,
Curve 8330 / 8350i / 8900, Bold 9000, Storm 9500/9530 and Tour 9630 — should be pleased to note that RIM is all set for the launch OS 5.0.
BlackBerry 7 on the
Curve 9360 runs quite nicely, and while I was able to reach the devices limits faster on it, then say my
BlackBerry Bold 9900 ultimately — it's still an improvement that is far and above the experience felt of previous
generation Curves.
