There's some sad math happening when Hollywood tries to equalize one of its most distinctive leading men with
generic action parts that even Liam Neeson would scowl at.

Rupert Friend certainly looks the
part of the titular assassin, and the
action sequences appear to make good use of the R - rating, but with so many better video game properties begging to be made into films, did we really need another
generic action flick based on one that didn't work the first time?
The vehicles themselves sound okay for the most
part and there's a
generic rock soundtrack that does a good enough job of matching the on - screen
action, but the noise of certain terrain just sounds off, such as water which just sounds... odd.
The overall experience is satisfying for the most
part, marred somewhat by a
generic storyline and the bloated gear system that drags the
action away from swordplay too often.
