It doesn't help that the three plots aren't any fun or frightening either, with
generic actions scenes and the like (save for one Clock Tower - inspired section).

Hell, the
action scenes can be so
generic they're almost meditative.
Prior to that point in the film, while the filmmakers thankfully also spare us another swinging sequence through New York skyscrapers, it does hit some
generic mini
action scenes like the predictable elevator saving sequence.
Outside of the fights however, the film doesn't feel particularly well put - together: the direction is weaker than the previous outing — jerking between various
scenes, locations, filler Thailand Tourist Board type shots... and there's no attempt at updating anything about the
generic 80s
action plot.
Lundgren has been a durable fixture in
generic action fare since the 1980s, and with Skin Trade, he continues a recent trend of taking more of a creative hand behind the
scenes.
